Batching Information
The PAX A80 device cannot trigger the Gateway to batch; instead, the Gateway will auto-batch every 24 hours. However, if you would like to clear the local PAX A80 transaction records and print a report, you must ensure that you are batching each night.
To batch and print a report, follow the below steps:
- From the A80 application idle screen, press FUNC.
- Press BATCH.
- Select Batch close.
- Device will clear local records and print a default report.
To ONLY print a report, follow the below steps:
- From the A80 application idle screen, press FUNC.
- Press REPORTS.
- Enter the Password.
- Press ENTER.
- Select the desired report and follow the prompts, or press DEFAULT to immediately print the report using the default settings.
Important: Since voids/tips require the local transaction record, those are no longer available once the batch process has been completed.
If you do not batch the terminal and the gateway auto-batch triggers the batch, transactions will be closed/cleared. Transactions still in the device cannot be altered.
The auto-batch time by default is set to 4:00 AM. If you need this time adjusted, contact Shift4 Support at (800) 632-1888 or techsupport@shift4.com. If changed, this time should be at least one-two hours after the business closes as not to interfere with your ability to adjust your transactions at the end of the day.
Manual Batch Offering: If a manual batch is preferred, Shift4 can disable auto-batch at the gateway and terminal level with a quick call or chat to Technical Support. However, you will now be required to manually batch the account in Lighthouse Transaction Manager as well as the standalone terminal itself.
