Customize Receipts in Micros RES 3700 With Shift4 Bridge

Description: Identify where receipt details can be changed or disabled in the various MICROS RES 3700 system with Shift4 Bridge. Select the type of adjustment that is needed with the instructions below. 

How do I change the number of receipts that are printed?

  • This is controlled by MICROS RES 3700 POS Configurator.
    1. Open the POS Configurator and navigate to Revenue Centers, then select RVC Printing.
    2. Select the revenue center on the left you wish to edit.
    3. At the bottom, adjust the field "Number of Checks/Receipts to Print" 
      • (This defaults at 2.)
    4. Save the config by pressing the green checkmark at the top.
    5. Repeat for each revenue center as needed.

How do I stop printing receipts for declined or voided transactions?

  • This is controlled by MICROS RES 3700 POS Configurator.
    1. Open the POS Configurator, navigate to Revenue Centers, and select RVC Printing.
    2. Select the revenue center on the left you wish to edit.
    3. Disable the setting "Print void/return validation chit" 
    4. Save the config by pressing the green checkmark at the top.
    5. Repeat for each revenue center as needed.

How do I change the header or footer details for my receipts?

  • This is controlled by Shift4 Bridge Interface.
    1. Navigate to  ..\Shift4interface
      • This is usually on the C:\ or D:\ drive.
    2. Run the Shift4Config.exe program.
    3. Navigate to the Revenue Centers tab.
    4. Select the revenue center you wish to edit on the left.
    5. You will be given options to alter the header and trailer on the right.
    6. Repeat for each revenue center as needed.
    7. Once done, go to File, then Save.

How do I remove the EMV Terminal details from my receipts?

  • This is planned in a future release of Shift4 Bridge with RES 3700.
    • There is no provided ETA at this time.

How do I remove the gratuity/tip details from my receipts?

  • This is controlled by Shift4 Bridge Interface.
    1. Navigate to  ..\Shift4interface.
      • This is usually on the C:\ or D:\ drive.
    2. Once in this folder, right-click the Shift4Include.isl.
    3. Choose the option to Open With, then select Notepad. 
    4. If Notepad is not listed, select Choose Another Program\App.
    5. Select Notepad or another text editor from the list that populates.
    6. Deselect the option "Always use this Program\App to open .ISL files."
    7. Then select OK.

I am seeing an extra capture receipt printed. How do I stop this? 

  • This may be due to a receipt option that is "disabled" within the Bridge configuration. 
    1. On the MICROS server, navigate to  ..\Shift4interface.
      • this is usually on the C:\ or D:\ drive.
    2. Once in this folder, open the Shift4Config.exe program.
    3. Navigate to the General tab and enable: Do not print Capture chit.
    4. Once configured, go to File and Save.
    5. Close the Shift4 Interface Configuration: 3700 screen.
    6. Reload the Shift4 Interface before this takes effect.
