Remove Gratuity/Tip Suggestions from Shift4 Bridge Receipt Details

Description: Remove gratuity/tip suggestions from Shift4 Bridge receipt details with the below steps.

  1. Navigate to  ..\Shift4interface.
    • This is usually on the C:\ or D:\ drive.
  2. Once in this folder, right-click the Shift4Include.isl.
  3. Choose the option to Open With, then select Notepad. 
    1. If Notepad is not listed, select Choose Another Program\App.
    2. Select Notepad or another Text Editor from the list that populates.
    3. Unselect the option "Always use this Program\App to open .ISL files".
    4. Then select OK.

  1. Once open, you will see the following details:

  1. Locate the line "Sub CustomFooter(ref Trailer[])".
  2. Comment out these lines by placing "//" in front of the lines you want removed.
  3. Save the file once changes are done.
  4. You will need to load this updated Shift4Include.ISL to all of the following directories on the MICROS server PC:
    • ...\MICROS\Res\Pos\Etc\...
    • ...\MICROS\Res\CAL\WS5A\Files\CF\Micros\Etc\...
    • ...\MICROS\Res\CAL\WS5\Files\CF\Micros\Etc\...
    • ...\MICROS\Res\CAL\WS4LX\Files\CF\Micros\Etc\...
    • ...\MICROS\Res\CAL\WS4\Files\CF\Micros\Etc\...
    • ...\MICROS\Res\CAL\Win32\Files\Micros\Res\Pos\Etc\...

Note: If they have an alternate workstation type than the ones listed above, the Shift4Include.isl files will need to be copied into the CAL folder for that workstation type as well. See, Identifying Micros & Simphony Workstation Types.

  1. You will need to reload the Shift4 Interface to have the settings take effect. See, Starting/Stopping a service in Windows including UTG Service, UTG Stub, and Shift4 Bridge.
