Deleting the UTGv2 Service
To delete the UTGv2 Service within the run command window follow these steps:
- Click on the Start menu on the bottom left side of the taskbar.
- Choose the Run option listed in the pop-up menu.
- If the Run option is not visible, have the merchant contact their IT department for assistance.
- In the Command window, type the path of the service and add a space, hyphen, uninstall.
- Example: C:\Shift4\UTG2\utg2Svc.exe –uninstall
Windows XP: Delete UTG from Add/Remove Programs

To delete the UTG program from the add/remove programs on Windows XP:
- Navigate to Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- Click on the Add or Remove programs link.
- Find the "Shift4 UTGv2" program in the list.
- Right-click and choose Uninstall the Program.
- Click Uninstall box located on top of the category section of the window.
- Follow the on-screen instructions for the Shift4 Uninstall Wizard.
Windows 7: Delete UTG from Add/Remove Programs

To delete the UTG program from the add/remove programs in Windows 7:
- Navigate to Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- Change View Options at the top right from "Category View" to Small Icons.
- Click on the Programs and Features link.
- Find the "Shift4 UTGv2" program in the list.
- Right-click and choose Uninstall the Program OR
- Click Uninstall box located on top of the category section of the window.
- Follow the on-screen instructions for the Shift4 Uninstall Wizard.
Windows 10: Delete UTG from Add/Remove Programs
- Navigate to Start > Settings.
- Select System from the list of options.
- On the System menu, select Apps and Features.
- Select "Shift4 UTGv2" from the list of programs, then Uninstall.
- Follow the on-screen instructions for the Shift4 Uninstall Wizard.
Verify/Delete UTG Folders in Drive
To verify and delete the existing folders in the drive in which the UTG was installed:
- Click on the My Computer icon from the desktop.
- By default, the Shift4 folder should be located in the local disk drive of C: (may vary).
- If the Shift4 folder is not in the "C:" drive then try another drive such as the "D:" or the "E:" drive.
- Right-click on the folder to access the list of options and choose Delete.
If everything else has been done, it may be possible that the registry will need to be edited. This is only applicable if the merchant's processing account is older than 05/13/2014 or was ever on UTG build 2253 or below. You can identify the age of an account via Titan's account details.
