Description: This article covers the setup process of UTG (Universal Transaction Gateway) for use with Oracle Payments Interface (OPI) to enable the secure data and threat prevention provided by UTG.
UTG with Micros Simphony 2
Install the Shift4 Universal Transaction Gateway (UTG):
- Open up the browser and navigate to www.shift4.com/downloads/UTG2setup.exe.
- If a virus scanner pops up, allow the file.
- Save the file to the Desktop.
- Right-click the downloaded file and select Run as Admin.
- Select Yes to allow the device to make changes, then select Next to continue.
- Scroll to the bottom of the License agreement screen and select Next to continue.
- Select Next to install shift4 on the default directory (C:\Shift4).
- If you encounter problems, make sure there is at least 40GB of free space.
- Select Next on the following screen to continue with the installation
- Uncheck Run Universal Transaction Gateway TuneUp and Select Finish
- Go to the Start Menu on the Desktop
- Open the following desktop path, All Programs\Apps>Shift4 Corp Folder
- Run the Shift4 Probe
- Once Shift4 Probe is open, select Next
- Check the first Connection to DOTN via the Internet
- Use Normal Route, then select Next
- Select Test to start a scan of the local network connection to the Shift4 Datacenter to validate if TCP\IP Ports 26880 and 26881 are open on the property firewall\network
- Select Close once the test is successful
- IF a failure is received, you need to validate ports 26880 and 26881 are open on the property firewall\network for both inbound and outbound communications
- Navigate to Start Menu on the Desktop
- Open the following desktop path, All Programs\Apps > Shift4 Corp Folder
- Run UTG TuneUp
Configure UTG Tuneup
- With the UTG Tuneup open, select the API Interfaces Tab.
- On this tab, Select Add.
- Select OPI (Oracle Payment Interface) from the list.
- Configure the following:
- Task Description: Oracle (By Default)
- Host Address: default
- Adjust the Port to Port: 8080,
- Select Okay
- Now select the Devices Tab.
- On this tab, Select Add.
- Configure the following:
- Enter the Device Name (logical name such as WS1, etc.)
- Select the Device type
- IE: IPP320 RBA
- Enter in the API TID located on the UTG Config sheet
- Connection type: RS-232 will be selected by default
- Adjust the COM Port
- (You can confirm what com port is being used through the windows device manager for the connected device. see, )
- Adjust the Manual Card Entry setting as preferred
- Adjust Additional Options settings as preferred
- Insert the Source Serial number (Also located on the UTG Config Sheet)
- Select Ok to add the device
- Now select the Express tab.
- Configure the following:
- Enter in the Station Name
- Enter the Shift4 Account Serial Number (Located on UTG config sheet)
- Enter Slot number (Located on UTG config sheet)
- Enter in the Location (zip code)
- Enter in API Serial (Located on UTG config sheet)
- Select Save at the top, you may now close the UTG Tuneup.
Ingenico PIN Pad Setup
Each device will use its own slot number with USB/RS-232 installation
- Plug the HDMI adapter into the PIN Pad.
- Connect the USB to the terminal and allow for it to boot up.
- During the boot process, on the copyright screen, press the numbers 2634 and then press the Green/Enter button to access the PIN pad's menus.
- The Screen will display "Press F for menu."
- Press the F button located above the Red/Cancel Button.
- Verify the PIN pad is in USB mode by performing the following:
- Press [3] for "TDA"
- Press [0] for "Configuration"
- Press [0] for "Communication"
- Press [0] for “Com type”
- Press [4] for “USB to Serial Conversion”
- Return to the previous menu by pressing the Yellow button.
- Continue Pressing the Yellow button until a message of "Save and Reboot?" appears
- Select Yes by pressing the number associated with its selection, then the Green Enter key
- The device will reboot and start idling (showing ads).
Run a Test Transaction
- Enter 0.01 and select OPI Auth.
- Make sure the Pin pad and terminal responds.
- You should see (Insert, Swipe, or Tap Card) and (are you ok with this amount?)
- Restart the Micros terminal.
- Make sure all UTG and Oracle services start back up and that you are able to process through Simphony
- Test transaction again; make sure the transaction goes through.
