Description: Find basic OS and system details for the Windows operating system with the steps below.

Basic OS Details (such as processor, RAM, system type):
Windows 7 & 8.1
- When in folder view on the left-hand side you will have a system tree.
- Right-click on Computer and select Properties.
- This will display basic OS features.
Windows 10
- When in folder view on the left-hand side you will have a system tree.
- Right-click on This PC and select Properties.
- This will display basic OS features.
System Details (such as hardware, OS, network info.):
Windows 7, 8.1, and 10.
- Click Start, in the search field type "System Information". This will show a list of programs.

Note: If the option does not show, the user is not logged into an Admin User for Windows.
- The page that opens is the "System Summary." Here you can find the Operating System Information, Computer Name, Manufacturer/Model, Processor Information, and Physical Memory (RAM) Information.

- After recording this information, navigate to the system tree on the left and select Components. Under this selection, you will see "Storage." Select Storage and a new option will appear labeled "Drives," which should be selected. The Hard Drive information will be displayed.

- To gather Network Information through system information, select Components in the system tree, select Network, and then Adapter. This will bring up a large list of devices, most of which will be labeled "Not Available." You will need to locate your installed or virtual Ethernet adapter. Here you will find the MAC address, IP Address, and if DHCP is enabled or not.
