Description: With Micros RES 3700, you can set up predefined processing of functions as a single button press. This allows you to simply press one key to perform many tasks at a single time regarding a customer's order.
You can develop a macro for each task that requires a sequence of button presses by an employee. A macro may include any key or may be linked to another macro. When macros are chained together they execute in succession. There is no limit to the number of macros that can be linked together.
What is a Macro?
A macro is a set of key commands compiled into a single button functionality.
Example:
A “Daily Special” featuring soup, salad, coffee, at a discount. The Daily Special macro posts the entire Daily Special with a single keystroke.
You can develop a macro for each task that requires a sequence of keystrokes by an employee. A macro may include any key or may be linked to another macro. When macros are chained together they execute in succession. There is no limit to the number of macros that can be linked together.
How to add or modify a Macro.
Your MICROS vendor is capable of making macros to simplify processes within the MICROS RES 3700 system. It is recommended to speak to them on what you are trying to set up or edit.
- The vendor will also need a MICROS user with read\write privileges to the PC to make these changes.
1. To start, navigate to ...\MICROS\Res\Pos\Bin on the MICROS server and open poscfg. This opens the POS Configurator.
- You will need to enter your MICROS username and password at this time.
2. Go to the System Tab and select Macros.
3. On this page, you can edit an existing macro by clicking on the Record Number on the left; you can add a new record by selecting a line and press the Blue Plus Sign [].
- If you need to remove a record, select the line and then press the Pink Minus Sign [
].
4. On the right, you will see the 'Macro Keys' for the macro. This shows a list from top to bottom of the actions being performed for this particular macro. This menu will have its own set of menu buttons. To add an action, simply select a line and press the Blue Plus Sign [].
- If you need to remove a record, select the line and then press the Pink Minus Sign [
].
5. Assign the needed Category, then assign the Function and assign the Record Number.
- If a macro is being linked to another, including the Record Number for that macro as the last step in the macro, the macro will ignore any steps that are posted after the Macro Record Number.
