Description: This article reviews various ways to find and deactivate a gift card in the case that a gift card holder has theirs stolen or loses it and needs a replacement card.
- Search by Full IYC Gift Card Number
- No Gift Card Number - Search by Customer Name
- No Gift Card Number or Customer Name - Searching by Purchasing Card
To prevent a possible loss of revenue and for security purposes, you should deactivate lost of stolen gift cards. You must locate the gift card number outlined outlined in the section below.
Search by Full IYC Gift Card Number
To deactivate a card, log in to Lighthouse Transaction Manager (LTM) and select your. Navigate to It’s Your Card > Lookup and enter the card number into the Card Lookup text box and click Lookup. Click on the Deactivate button.
You will receive a dialogue asking for a reason for the deactivation. Select the appropriate choice from the dropdown. Click on the Deactivate button. The card is now be deactivated.
Important: If you do not have a Deactivate button, your administrator has not given you permission to perform this function. They can modify your rights in User Maintenance to modify this setting.
No Gift Card Number - Search by Customer Name
If the name of the gift card holder was entered into the Point of Sale (POS) or Property Management System (PMS) at the time of the purchase, the name should be associated with the card in Lighthouse Transaction Manager.
To find the card number by the name log into Lighthouse Transaction Manager (LTM). Navigate to It’s Your Card > Lookup and click the Find link to do a partial search.
Important: If Find is not available, then the Account Administrator did not allow for a partial search and you should skip to the next section.
A new search window will open where you can search by name and also try some variations of the name. If the card comes up, click on it to automatically search. On the left-hand side, click on the Deactivate button.
You receive a dialogue asking for a reason for the deactivation. Select the appropriate choice from the dropdown. Click Deactivate button. The card is now deactivated.
No Gift Card Number or Customer Name - Searching by Purchasing Card
If the name of the cardholder was not associated with the gift card at the time of purchase, but a credit card was used to make the purchase, the name should still show up for their credit card transaction. Depending on what interface was used to activate the card, the LTM invoice may contain some information about the IYC card activated.
- Use the quick search field to look up the cardholder name
- If the credit card that made the IYC purchase comes up, click on it to automatically open the basic transaction information
- In the Miscellaneous Notes section, there may be information about the card that was activated.
- This depends on if the processing interface provided this detail. If not here, continue
- Regardless of whether the information is present in step 3, note the business date of the transaction.
With the date from when the credit card was run, you can look at gift cards that were activated on that day to get the full gift card number.
- Go to It’s Your Card > Reports > Activation Report > Custom Range Report
- In the Custom Range Activation Report, put the Begin Date and End Date to be the business date recorded above, then click on Detail
- This will open up a new window with a list of all the cards activated on that day with the full card number and the amount for activation
- If the last four of the IYC gift card was provided in the LTM invoice, you should be able to find it from that and/or the amount the card was activated for
- Highlight and copy the full gift card number
- Go to It’s Your Card > Lookup and enter in the full gift card number
- On the left side, click on the “Deactivate” button
You will receive a dialogue asking for a reason for the deactivation. Select the appropriate choice from the dropdown. Click on the Deactivate button. The card is now deactivated.
