Description: You may need to change the Power Save and Sleep Mode options on any Windows Operating System (OS) run computer or POS system if you have found the Universal Transaction Gateway (UTG) or UTG STUB computer is often entering a sleep mode state. Therefore, you need to disable Power Save and Sleep Mode options to ensure uninterrupted processing. To do this, perform the steps outlined in this article based on the OS:
Older versions of Windows
To change the Windows Power Saver and Sleep Mode options on older versions of Windows (pre-Windows 10), begin by opening the Start menu and navigating to the Control Panel. Change the Category Viewing options to "Small Icons" if not already in this setting. This is located at the top right side of the screen and gives access to all menu items.
Then, find and open the Power Options on this list (it should be alphabetical). This screen shows you one of three things selected:
- Power Saver
- Balanced (Typically the Default)
- High Performance
On the highlighted selection, select the option of Change Plan Settings.
Set the Put the computer to sleep drop-down to "Never," then press Save Changes. The computer will no longer go to sleep when inactive.
Windows 10
To change the Windows Power Saver and Sleep Mode options on older versions of Windows (pre-Windows 10), begin by opening the Start menu and navigating to Settings.
From the Settings menu, select System.
Select the Power and Sleep menu in the System Menu, then set the Sleep drop-down lists to "Never."
